Nisarg brings over 11 years of rich experience of heading Finance and Accounts departments for companies spanning across multiple financial services industries including brokerage, insurance and commodity exchanges. He has worked extensively with multiple regulators including SEBI, FMC and IRDA. He has handled mergers of multiple exchanges as well as insurance and broking businesses.
Prior to joining Light Microfinance, Nisarg was Vice President – Accounts at Equirus Securities Private Limited (a SEBI registered merchant banker), where he led the accounting practice for multiple businesses including investment banking, equity research, institutional equities, portfolio management and wealth management. Prior to that he was with National Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd, and handled their merger with ICE (Indian Commodity Exchange).
Nisarg has a wide breath of knowledge and experience in financial accounting and in addition to the practice of accounting, he has a deep academic interest in the field too. He has contributed to many articles on exchange and trading related accounting practices in leading ICAI sponsored journals.
Nisarg passed his Chartered Accountant examination with an all-India-rank of 32 He also holds an MBA in Finance and a Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA).
